Kohler CV16S No Spark

Craftsman 917.271041 riding tractor - I have manual, 1998
Kohler SKH426u1G2rb family 16hp OHV
Model CV16S
I have jumped the seat switch, just cut and taped the green ends together.
New Coil and Sub module in 2012. Originals lasted 14 years
I stopped abruptly and the engine died. It cranks without any issues. No spark when plug is pulled and grounded to engine.
Changed fuel filter and oil, been a couple years. Carburetor is full of gas.

Any ideas where to look next, the coil and module were $266 in 2012 when they came out to fix it.

OK some testing results:
Before the module, speed advance #12-584-06
I get reading of red=12v, white=10v
after the module i get nothing either cranking or not.
