| Hey all,
I have a Cub Cadet in the shop that someone got rough with and broke the ears off the plastic fill tube on a 14 hp Linamar engine. I am wanting someone to steer me to someone that might have some NOS, Onan owns or is part of Linamar, but Linamar is out of biz from what all the warehouses and Onan dealers I have contacted said. The part # is ME-123-1970 fill tube Thanks much |

| Decent engines, Cummins support these? Continental engines shows parts for these (not the aircraft engines). |

| Linamar is a long way from being out of business. They are alive and well and thriving in Guelph Ontario Canada and elsewhere in the world. Linamar entered into a deal WITH Onan to build Onan engines. Onan shipped Linamar all the tooling to make this happen. The engines came down the assembly line and when they reached the end, some became Onan labelled models and some became Linamar labelled models. There is no difference between an Onan and a Linamar on a model by model basis. Parts are not hard to come by. Any savvy Onan dealer will know what I just told you and have no difficulty in providing you with the part/s you want. The only reason these engines stopped being made is because of California emission standards. There was no way to redesign this L-head engine to meet those guidelines so production ceased. Parts are still being produced to support the millions of existing engines but not at the Linamar plant. See your local Cummins dealer or others who specialize in Onan engines. |

| Well, I am tired of calling warehouses and dealers to be told there are no #ME-123-1970 tubes. I just called the Conti Eng's listed above. They said the same thing. NOT AVAIL, so far as I can tell they are not making this tube any longer. Who besides Cont Eng's and Cub Cadet can a person call?? Thanks again. |

| deeredoctor - can you cobble up a mounting ear for the oil tube? |

| Hey, Thanks for the links. Rcbe, have not seen that "Onan" parts page before, Elite 140. I spent over an hour with a Major Cummins Supplier today in Texas that said this is not a Onan engine but a Kubota engine. Yet the picture you linked is an Onan and looks just like the Cub Cadet picture in the parts manual. Thanks kompressor, I'll try those guys after they return from vacation. I keep ya posted. I can't believe Cub Cadet won't help a bit on this. Another reason I am a JD tech/fan/owner..... |

| After hours of researching this I finally found an online Parts Manual for this engine. Turns out the Cummins Supplier was wrong it is a Onan engine, not a Kubota engine. The Onan manual and Cub Cadet manual are almost identical, well are indentical on most of the engine parts, the Onan version has some different parts than the Cub Cadet version. All it seems is to drop the "ME-" off the front of the Cub Cadet part number and wha laaa you now have the Onan number. Like dropping the first 3 digits off a Husqvarna number to get the AYP number. Cub's ME-123-1970 is 123-1970 for Onan. This was totally uncalled for on Cub Cadet and the Onan suppliers side. Left hand does not know what the Right hand is doing. Thanks again for helping me zero in on where to go with this guys. |

| Was there some part of my post above that you did not understand? I also provided a link for parts. |
|
| Yes I understood your post and I contacted onanparts.com. They told me the part is obsolete and no longer available. So does anyone know of another site I can try |
