Craftsman mower wont start

Craftsman Mower Model # 917.256524

I replaced the starter to my mower. I was having problems with it starting, replace it and now it starts but it gives me alot of problems to start it. Today I tried to start it and nothing, no turn of the engine, nothing! We thought it was the switch under the seat, so I hard wired the seat switch and it started up after a couple of tries...turned it off and NOTHING AGAIN. Tried to roll it closer to a battery charger, and the mower wont roll, not in gear nothing. What can be wrong with this thing? Model # 917.256524

Seat switch has nothing to do with the cranking circuit.

Your description does not match the schematic for the number you quoted.
"Hard wiring" the seat which would guarantee no spark.

Is the park brake on?

been washing it down with a garden hose or power washer? and sounds like the park brake has frozen up. Loosen assy witrh cuppla shots of rattlecan brake pad cleaner.
Also, clean all your start circuit elect connection to bright metal using sandpaper or such including connections to frame ground.
