AYP family seat safety switch 401545

The seat safety switch on the newest AYP mowers often causes me problems with some of the terrain in this area.
Tying the switch down with cable ties would seem to be the solution to my problem-- even if some disagree with the idea of disabling it.
But doing so introduces an unexpected result. The mower starts just fine, but the engine dies when one releases the brake pedal. The wiring diagram in the manual is skimpy. But apparently there is some sort of logic circuitry that senses that the switch button has not been released since the prior use of the mower.
The switch has 4 contacts. The wiring harness has 3 wires plus a short jumper.
Anyone with a solution that works for this switch?
