Craftsman stopped running

My tractor died while cutting the lawn. No sputter just quit like the power was cut. Seat safety is disabled by wiring the two green leads together. Thinking it might be one of the button safeties because of the way it stopped working. Starter will turn with a jumper across the solenoid. Can you bypass the safety with a jumper across the plug? My tractor model 917.271024

It's probably the Operator Presence Relay #1.
Either a bad relay or bad connection to activate it.
