Closing in on 300 hrs on my 2002 JD L130...

... with 'zero' significant issues, regular maintenance only. I mow some rough & hilly terrain, but only 2-1/2 acres or so. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

It has been a long time since I've been on here debating the John Deere 'L' series' worthiness of the JD label.

Though I'm not sure my experience reflects the majority of opinons on the 'L' series and I'm sure a some people in here still ridicule them, but that's OK because I'm smiling too...

Most of the time all it takes little pre-ventive maintenance and good ear for unusual sounds to keep equipment running a LONG time. Keep up the good work and keep preforming the 25 and 50 hours schedule especially the inspection part like cooling fins, wire chafing, axle shaft lubrication, and fuel system inspection and clean up and I think it will last for 20 years. IMO the 50 hour oil change is out the window. I change mine 2 to 3 times year reguardless of hours. But, that's me the oil changing nerd.

Even at today's prices... oil is still cheaper than pistons, rings, and connecting rods.
