to get new engine or not

Just getting suggestions. Long story short I bought a used Bolens 20 hp early 2000's model made by Troy built/MTD. I mowed my yard once Then engine locked up. I called a lawn mower repair shop they came out and got it unlocked. I mowed the front yard a few days later and just got done needless to say a rod broke now the engine is shot.

Mower is in good shape for its age and I know if I sell it as is I wont get much for it. I bought another use mower so I don't really need a second one. Is it worth finding another use engine to put in or should I just sell it as is?

Seems a stretch. If it were a Mustang you could wait till one wrecks and get the motor out of it.

I guess you could find a mower with a good motor but a locked up rear axle or something which someone junked. Just going to take some time.

Find a rusted out old Murray, the engines in them are usually still pretty good, and just switch it out, or try craigslist or ebay....If you are close to west central Georgia I may be interested in buying it...
