It's a locking plug but it's hard to tell the release from your picture.

The back side of the plug has a latch. Sometimes a thin screwdriver slid under will help the tab release. If it is stubborn, spray it with a light lubricant to help it to release. If it is really stubborn, it may take a twist from a medium bladed screwdriver to help pry apart or even a pair of pliers. Be mindful that if you tug on the harness that travels to the clutch, you can damage it and render the clutch useless.

Thank you for your post. Although I've been able to disconnect other connectors/plugs, I haven't been able to see the release of this one. Attached is a larger picture. I hope that this helps.

Thank you for your post and for the warning not to tug on the harness that travels to the clutch. I'm enclosing an actual picture of the plug, not a picture from the manual. It appears to me that the piece in the middle (on the right) may slide or open. However, nothing budges and I don't want to break it. As you know, sometimes these plugs work like puzzles and when you know to press at a certain point it opens like magic.

Again, thank you for your instructions. When I finally understood how the plug came apart, I slipped a pocketknife blade between the two pieces at two points to free up the parts as seen in the picture below (See A) and then I slipped a paperclip between the two pieces to hold the tab in. (See B). Sorry about the blurry picture. That allowed me to freely use both hands to use two pliers to carefully separate the two parts of the plug. (See C). PROBLEM SOLVED!
