How many hours are acceptable?

For a compact tractor, I'm wondering how many hours are acceptable before the thing is considered too long in the tooth.

For instance, today on Craigslist, a Kubota L3300 is listed for $9800 with 960 hours (front loader, 35hb, 4wd, rear - mid PTO)

I'm not looking for a fire sale, but don't want to pay too rich of a premium either.

That's pretty low hours. My inlaw farmers run their big JD 7000-series field tractors for about 8,000 to 10,000 hrs before they rebuild the diesel engines. Personally I wouldn't be concerned with anything under 2,000 hrs. They also just bought a used JD 5000-series smaller tractor with loader and cab for $29,000 and it has 2,300 hrs on the clock.
