B&S Intek V-Twin 26HP, Model 446777 Replacement

After trying the do-it-yourself thing, I blew my engine. I have the infamous 2004 Briggs and Stratton Intek trouble laden motor. I need to replace it, but I would like to use a differnt motor. Does anyone have any suggestions for engines that I can replace with without redoing all of the cables and electrical connections?
