John Deere STX46 belt problem

Hi everyone!

I have a John Deere STX46 automatic riding lawnmower. The drive belt broke and I got a replacement. I'm having trouble removing the old one. I need to know if I need to remove the PTO clutch in order to do this and get the new one in... and if so, how to go about doing this?

Yes, it normally is removed. 1) An impact wrench 2)The clutch itself may have a "double D" spacer that you can grip and hold the clutch/ crank from turning. If you cant remove the clutch, it may be possible by loosening the engine, but I'm just guessing you will get clearance.
