Built by AYP. The fuel tank has a "window" below the front of the seat that supposedly serves as a fuel level indicator. I never can see any change in that window. What is your experience with these?

I read them when the machine is standing stock still, not under way. And, you must use tinted gasoline, not the clear kind--makes sense to me! Way i figger--if you don't see the shadow of fuel, in the indicator--then there ain't any in there. On the other hand, if the indicator looks completely dark, then you don't need fuel! Why is that so hard to understand? After all, most everything made nowadays is "dumbed down" so anybody who knows how to walk can operate machinery! JMHO! Rusty J.

It would be helpful to know the Sears Model number (from under the seat). DYS 4500 will not get you to an IPL for the tractor (that's just how Sears does it).
