Need a little info please

Hey folks.

I won a dual spool hydraulic valve from a JD 332 from that other place over there.

I need to know if this is indeed a Cessna valve. It sure as heck looks like it to me. Here's one like it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200489284765

I didn't win this one, but mine looks just like it. I also need to know if it can support power beyond. I have some plans down the road to use it with some hydraulics.

I did check weekend freedom machines, but there isn't much of anything discussed in detail there.

I also tried to find the JD parts lookup, but apparently they've changed the website.

Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you whether that's a Cessna valve or any other brand. Perhaps your local Deere dealer would know or customer service at Deere. I do see a boss on the one side that certainly appears that the casting was designed for PB use but it does not appear that they machined the casting for that function. Nothing unusual there. It's far more cost effective to just make one casting and then machine it to suit the manufacturer's needs.

Whether you could open that boss and install PB, I can't say. Perhaps a local hydraulics shop could advise whether this is possible or not. If so, then it all comes down the almighty buck that is involved to make this change because you will have to order the needed parts at list price.

All of that must be weighed against finding a 2 spool valve with the PB feature. Most of the time, those are used in loader control situations where a 2nd remote spool valve exists that also needs full pressure from the pump. I don't know if any Deere GT's are set up that way.

Hey Kompressor. You have very good eyes. The valve arrived this weekend, and it does have a "shunted" PB port, and it isn't drilled. It does appear to be a Cessna valve, so I think I'm in good shape there.

I currently have a single DA Cessna spool valve that I can put inline to accomplish the same thing. I just need to find the PB to fit it.

As far as cost, I paid less than $30.00 + shipping for this one, so I think I came out ok with it. :D

If you can open the PB port and retrofit it cheaply enough, then great. A new valve like that could cost you ten times that figure.
