John Deere 345?

I'm cosidering replacing my 1989 JD 265 with a 1999 345. It appears the 345 is every bit as good as the 265 and even better with a more powerful engine. hydraulic lift, water cooling and power steering. I wonder if the added complication of those features over my "simple" (one cylinder air cooled, no PS, manual lift) unit will result in increased maintenance and agravation. The 345 has 390 hours on it. My 265 has 700 hours and I worry about the plastic cam gear breaking in it's Kawa FC540V engine. I've heard they often break around 700 hours. Does a '99 345 with 20 HP Kawa have the same issue with cam?

I believe the 345 and 265 are built on the same frame, so you can keep your attachments.
