2006 simplicty riding mower pricing

I'm looking at a 2006 Simplicity Broadmoor 16hp 38"deck
for $1,000. It has 248 hrs on it and has been recently serviced. Is this a fair price? New they were about $3,000.

What happened to yours?! Also, if it were me, I'd put the $1000 toward a new machine, or another good used one. One that is complete.
Maybe I'm too frugal (not cheap!) to think about paying that much for a used deck, but, if it were me, i think i'd opt for a new machine. Or one with a good deck. After all, there are lots of good used (oh, the folly of my words!) Craftsman lawn tractors out there that will do a fine job of mowing grass, and have been doing that for years, as witnessed by the large numbers of them out there, still in service. Also, you can find used decks for them for lots less than $1000! JMHO: Rustyj

I still have a simplicity 6000 sieries which runs good and has a bagging system. But,It's about 20+ years old.
I think it's,time to look for something newer. The new tractors are just too expensive for a higher end machine like thsese.

Hagarden,

That seems to be a good price for that year model. I think it should have the 16 HP Briggs & Stratton Vangard Engine of which is a good series engine. Pay attention to having the valves adjusted correctly.

Get in touch with Walt Connor on this site for directions on setting valve lash should you purchase the mower.

Since you have prior Simplicity ownership, you don't need to know about the quality of the machines nor the great cut of the grass.

I have a 2000 yr model Simplicity Landlord myself. Just cut my grass again this past weekend. What a joy it is to see the yard after that cut!

Good luck with the purchase should you opt to get it. It'll be a better machine than most others in its class.
