i have to replace this ball joint on my lawn tractor it is kind if hard to get to anybody ever replace one i could use a few ideas.i took a picture of it.
the full model number for your machine should be on an I D plate in the cavity under the tilting seat.
Go to the website link below, enter the model number and serial number and d/l a parts list. You should be able to determine the CC p/n for that ball joint and then order same from your source of choice. I would think any good CC dealer would be able to get such an item for you.
Before you order a replacement joint check the others in the steering on both sides. They've all been there the same amount of time so you may find another or two feel notchy and ordering more than one will get you more value for your shipping costs..
Not all that difficult to R&R. Removing the deck might give you more room depending on the model and running the tractor up on a couple Rhino ramps will make things easier on you working upside down. Wear eye protection cause everything will fall directly in your eyes.
You might slip a box wrench in there on top if there's room or an open end spanner if there's not to loosen and an open end spanner to hold the nut still underneath.
You ought to remove the entire steering link to replace the joint and carefully count the # of turns you make to remove the old joint from the steering link and install the replacement with the same # of turns. You may have to align the front wheels but that trick will give you a good place to start.
A couple drops of oil once in a while on/in the joint will go a long way towards you never having to do this again.
