Full StoryHey all,
I broke a drive belt on my 18.5hp 2-cylindar 46" Craftsman rider last week. Took of the deck, removed the old belt. There was some string from the old belt wrapped around the tranny pully, got it out w/o too much problem. New belt went on fine. Used the mower yesterday, cut and moved as usual. After putting it back in the shed, I noticed oil dripping from the tranny purge tube. Not a lot, but it's never leaked before. I topped off the tranny with some 5W-20 I had hanging around, it took 3-4 oz. Then I purged the tranny by holding in the freewheel lever and moving the gear lever all the way fwd and reverse with the engine running. Some oil came out at the top of the purge tube again, and it seems to be leaking from there when I drive it as well. Def. leaking from the top cap area on the tube, I put a hose washer on the bottom just to make sure (as seen in pic). Any ideas? Some pix attached in the link.
thx, Doug
