Solenoid wiring connections

Say, mownie, or anybody---please send me a simple sketch of how the wires go onto a starting solenoid. I can't seem to get it right. Its just for an old el cheapo lawn tractor. A Murray, if i remember right.

And, there is a strange plug hanging out the back end, and a heavy wire on it, but it only goes to the rear fender running lights. The plug is the take-apart kind, used on extension cords!

This tractor came from a man who couldn't pour water out of his boots, even with the directions printed on the heels!

If i don't get it running soon, the good engine will find another home! I even tried a new solenoid, but nothing.

And, my aching back has made me decide to give up on the heavy stuff. A mower a week will keep me in beer, and i can let somebody else do the heavy stuff! Thanks in advance for any help!

Yas, my aging brain didn't think about it. And, tonight Mownie sent me a diagram that will help immensly!
but, thanks to Lurker for the info you sent. If i can get the printer to work, i'll print some of it.

You can always put some tracing paper on the monitor screen...

Yes, Lurker, the printer didn't work, so i made a sketch, and today i got results! Then when i went for my hole saw, i couldn't find the main part, so i closed the door and quit for the day! Hotter than a flicker's nest, down in the garage. Sold a cheap mower, too. Giffs wholesale cleanout soon. Too oldt fer this working all day! My back hurts from bending over too much, to work on mowers.
there's a junky up-country who takes old mowers and tractors, and lets ya take most anything that ya need, fer a pittance! He had some nice coffins, a bit scorched on one end, selling them for $25. I'd a bought one, but no place to store it until its needed. I tried selling them to my fireman buddies, but they looked at me, while their fingers made circular motions around their heads, and made smart remarks. Time will tell! RJ

There was a guy down in Georgia a few years ago who would make you a heck of a deal on a used coffin.

I'm resting from grocery shopping, then it'll be lunch time, and then back to work. Got to finish that tractor! At least--it isn't raining. And, it runs! Thanks for the help! Rusty J.
