Rear engine snapper tractor no spark about 7 years old

I have no spark and when I turn electric start it sounds like it isn't catching like when you take spark plug out and then try to start. It sounds like something is not catching it will turn but sounds like its just spinning... Any ideas would be great! Thanks

Are you saying that the starter runs but does not turn the flywheel or are you saying the starter turns the flywheel but the flywheel is turning freely?
