Mounting plow on front axle of Sears/Craftsman GT6000

Got a 1990 Craftsman GT6000 917.254450 that I got a Murray 42" plow mounted on, I used the mount on the front axle to hook up the plow. Is this gonna hurt anything? I know the old Simplicity/Allis Chalmers plows mounted on the front axles

If you were to download a manual for the tractor, do they reference mounting a plow? And by plow do you mean a blade? What will you be pushing with this plow? I did a quick look on Sears Parts to see if it was a stamped steel axle or cast and they show the axle on your tractor as NLA. . .

Yes I mean a blade. The axle is steel, I haven't been able to find a manual that shows how the factory blade mounts

FWIW, I have a GT5000, '02 with dozer blade. The mounting details for the blade are in the manual for the blade. Also, on mine, the blade mounts to the frame, not the front axle. Also uses the deck lift mechanism.

Maybe check out my tractor forum, the craftsman area and ask if someone can come up with the model number for the blade for your GT. Download that and you'll be heading in the right direction.

Whether the axle is cast or stamped steel I think it would be a big mistake.
