| Anybody know where to get bearings for a Tomahawk Chipper? A fellow borrowed one, and yep--the bearings in the chipper part were bad when he started it up!
HMMMM: Could they have been bad before he borrowed it? The owner didn't start it before he took it home to use. Sound familiar? "Why, i never had any problems with it--it ran good when i stored it away! Must of been something you did to it!" "OH, YEAH, The bearings went bad in my truck when i was taking it to my place!" |

| Rusty, Odds are decent there is a generic replacement if you look on small parts or McMaster Carr. Too bad for your friend! |

| I found nice pair of block bearings at Northern Tool for a Mackissic chipper. If you searched the tool shed, you will find a parts manual and support at parts and service dot com. |

| Rusty: I happen to have two different models of the real Troy bilt Tomahawk chipper/shredders. One is a 3.5 hp, the other a 4.0 hp - both are with Tecumseh engines. I have manuals for both. Look for a model number on the machines. There will also be a serial number on the same tag. Some are right around the front leading edge of the exhaust chute. Post it here and I'll check to see if it matches my manuals. I can try to get you a parts # for cross reference. There is a place local to me that still stocks Troy bilt parts for the old ones. It is called Clarks Farm Supply in Greensboro, NC. |

| Thanks, folks, for the quick reply and information. The chipper guy found bearings here near town, so he's going to fix it himself. Rusty J. |
