Lawn stuff:

Went out last night, checking the stuff that "uneducated in lawn equipment" folks throw away on garbage night. found an almost new gasoline powered, Craftsman Chipper, all nestled in the garbage cans, along with a 2 cycle leaf blower, hand held!
The leaf blower gave forth a half tank of un-mixed straight gasoline, and was lightly stuck! A bit of hand turning and several squirts of 30 W oil freed it up! A half tank of my favorite gas/oil mix fixed it up, and it runs really great!
The nice chipper carb was all gummed up with last years fuel, so a good cleaning was done on it. It now runs well!
Three cheers for the uneducated--or should i say--the too educated?! Woo-hoo!!

Hey, fellers, thanks fer the nice words!
Just got a call from my Drs. office. They want to discuss the heart exam i had last week! Probably tell me i should slow down. WHAT??? Slow down at 86 yoa? Heck, i'm slowing down today--its beastly hot out there, so i'm waiting for the sun to move further west, to allow the shade to cover the side driveway. A nice cool brewski should make the sun move faster!
I have a load of irony aluminum, and some clean alum. to go to the scrap yard. Might wait til Tuesday. Might get more. Y'all have a nice Holiday! I'm going Bluegrassin' on Saturday.

I took off from work so I could work around my property yesterday. I don't mind the heat. I work in 95 degree heat all summer, but the humidity was just absolutely ugly yesterday. It's supposed to cool down to the upper 80's today. Hopefully, I'll get some firewood cut up today.

I also have 9 pieces of equipment to work on that just came in. 5 of them snow related.

I have an old Honda snow blower that has set around since last year, and i got it out of storage last week. I cleaned it up some, and put some fresh gas in it, but got called away for something else. My son stopped in yesterday, saw the blower/thrower, pulled the starter rope about 5 times, and it started up! HMMM! He should stop in more! Must have the magic touch!

I started my Toro snow thrower a couple days ago and it started on first pull... surprised me. Thought I'd better get it ready because if winter is going to be like this summer with the way over avg rainfall we had...I'm going to need it.

RE: Lawn stuff revisited with spades!

A good friend came in today, showed me a Homelite Weed Wacker he'd bought at a yard sale. Said the seller told him it ran really well!
But: He nor i could get it to run! I had an older one standing in a corner of the garage, so i got it out, pumped the bulb about 7 times, set the choke and it started and ran well! I think i put it there last summer.
So, i gave it to him, and said if his wouldn't run, just give me some cash and his wacker and we'd be all set. Ain't heard anything yet. But, he'll be back, i am sure!
