JD x320-48C Deck as Mulcher

Posted by woodbeefarmer NY (My Page) on

I am considering an x320 with a 48C deck. I would like to get the powerflow bagger but it adds about $1000 to the cost, while the mulching attachment is $144. Has anyone used the 48C deck with the mulching attachment and how did it work- especially on long(ish) grass and leaves. I have dozens of trees. Does it leave the lawn looking "clean"?

The 48c is a good deck, I did not like the mulch kit, a lot of grass got caught underneath the only way to properly clean it was removing the mulch kit. My kit is long gone. If you mow alot say every 4 to 5 days a mulcher is ok, if you mow long grass discharge.Try a set of PREDATOR blades , can be purchased from DEERE .
Note they can not be used with that plastic thing they call a mulcher.
