a few simple fixes to try first:
check to see that fuel tank cap vent is working - run tractor with cap loose - be careful not to spill fuel.

remove engine shroud sheet metal to make sure cooling fins are clean and no wire insulation damaged.

Next time engine quits, quickly spray a shot of rattlecan carb cleaner into carb throat (remove air cleaner) - if engine tries to start momentarily, then chk entire fuel supply system (dirty carb, collapsing fuel lines, failing fuel pump, trash in fuel tank).

Post back with details if prob remains unsolved...

In addition to above;

Would like to know more information on most of these posts. Like how old, fuel pump or not, when fuel filter was last changed ECT...I'm too lazy to look up what model it has even with that information supplied which most of the time it's not any way. But I'm lazy and just give guesses.

If this thing has fuel pump and alot of hours or years on it I would also check all the fuel lines for weather cracks or loose around the fittings especially the small short rubber hose coming off the head to the fuel pump. If it sucking air it won't pump fuel IMO

I loosened the gas cap , took off the shroud ( it was fairy clean with no grass built-up and sprayed carb when it died . Still same trouble , it dies when after it runs for 5 to 10 minutes . Has clean fresh gas and the fuel filter is clear . thanks

next time it dies, be prepared to check for presence of spark at plug(s). coil - if so equipped - may be failing when becoming heated. if posting back, give full make/model/type code of engine (from engine ID plate/decal)
