GardenWeb needs your feedback!

Hi everyone,

As you may have noticed, we've been sprucing up the site a bit. Among other things, we've added new ways to upload photos and email notifications of post replies. We are still cleaning out cobwebs and weeding some areas of the site, but we are also working on some bigger projects like a better search engine (yay!) and a mobile app. We'd also like to get some feedback from you. What enhancements or additions would you like to see? What do you love? What do you hate? Think big and small!

We can't promise the moon, but please know that we will read and consider every one of your ideas and suggestions. We appreciate your loyalty and dedication to our site and we know how important your community is to you. Help us make it even better!

Please use this post to offer your feedback. But, as always, you are welcome to contact me directly by clicking on my profile page.

Best regards,

Tamara Amey

a simple way of going to the last post in a given thread would be neat...

Don't change anything! Do not change anything!
The world is confusing enough! Changing a web-site that is easy to use, is not a very good idea!
We like it just as it is! Please do not make it harder to use the site! Do i have to get down on my bended knee, or prostate my body on the floor?
If you change the site--i know a lot of folks will run, screaming, for the exit!
Today, i had to put up with losing my Yahoo mail--change is not always for the better. Look how "hope and change" has worked so far! by: Rusty Jones

I don't mind the ads except for the ones that scroll out and then shrink on the screen. It is a little frustrating having to chase the links on the screen.
I love everything else about this site except Rusty. Can you fix him?

    I like rcbe's idea:

A button to take you all the way to the latest post within a thread. (Now, Rusty, that wouldn't be too big a change for you to deal with!)

I don't like the increase of invasive pop-ups lately. I understand you need to raise revenue someway.

This is the only forum of this type that I know of that does not have an Edit and Delete feature. One has a time limit for edit, you just post the message and realize you made a bad mistake but can't correct it here. Another forum doesn't have a time limit for Editing. Sure you have a Preview requirement but an error isn't always apparent immediately and sometimes I forget to count to ten also.

The search engine on this site needs a major overhaul. You have to start on the correct page, it's hard to find and yields grossly incomplete results. I have tried to find past posts to answer a particular question and very rarely am I able to locate the original post.

Many other forums have a place for a small avatar and the number of posts, posted.

The search engine is about the only thing that really needs help. I sometimes have to use Google to search GardenWeb for what I'm looking for.

You might want to consolidate or eliminate some of the unused and little used forums.

    Hi everyone!

You asked and we listened. Today we are very excited to be debuting our newest feature -- post editing! To use this feature, go back to the post you wish to correct and you'll find the link under the 'My Clippings' links on the right side of the page.

I want to give a special shout out to all the testers who tried to break the editing tool. ;) Your feedback was insightful and invaluable. Thank you!

You may have also noticed that we adjusted the login cookie awhile back so that you should not have to login repeatedly.

Stay tuned -- we have more cool things in the works!

As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

    Best regards,
    Tamara

I was one of those who suggest Editing, I have tried it and I like it, thanks.
