John Deere x300 with mulching deck

Posted by jmatotek 5 (My Page) on

I have a 1998 JD LT155 with a mulching deck which I like. I have read there are problems with x300 with mulching deck. Does anyone have one and likes it? I would like to get it if it works as good as my old one.
Thanks,
John

John Deere offers a 30 day full refund return policy on new LTs so you can find out for yourself... first hand.

It's called the John Deere Promise... ask your dealer.

There aren't mechanical problems per say with the new 42M that I have seen. I service a few of these onna regular basis. The worse thing that I have noted is the belt price. ~$140 They had a kit to improve the quality of cut on the earlier ones- still on the new ones, I dunno.

Ah, the old JD kit caper... just curious - wonder what the cost of that 'improvment' kit wus?
