Deere front-mounted dethatcher

While browsing eBay I came across a great deal on a brand new Deere (de)thatcher with the GT/LX mounting kit included. It's in Dunn, NC.

I forget exactly what I paid for mine, but I think it was around $250. Looks like this will sell for half that, about what I'd expect for a used unit, but this is new old stock.

If you have centipede, a thatcher is essential. With Bermuda or fescue, nice to have, but not as critical. The front mounted versions are much more useful than tow-behind. Aside from the obvious maneuverability, with a front-mount, you can pick up the thatch with your bagger immediately after you tear it out.

RE: Deere front-mounted dethatcher

These work quite well here in the Northeast as well. I just picked up a JD 657 (Great Dane Stander) with a JRCO front mounted dethatcher, works awesome where most of the grasses here are a mix of KY blue and perennial rye, fescue, etc.
