Gravely Snowblower

How do gravely snowblowers work compared to regular snowblowers? I have a 1980s (early) 5240 with a 8 HP engine. I was considering finding a snowblower, but they appear hard to come by. And investing significant cash on an old snowblower on an old machines does not seem to make sense. I also heard the larger snowblower may be too big for the 8 HP engine, so the 28" smaller one is the one I would need to find.

You seem to be saying that if the price was right... which I would agree with. Another point to ponder may be performance. You've got a neat rig there, but I haven't used a thrower on one. Did they have both single and two stage models available? A lot of those older throwers did not throw the heavy stuff real far. Remember those big round chutes about the size of a 3# coffee can? Starting in the late 80s models were designed that would "streamline" the snow thrown and carry it further.

I did not they do not have as many "blades" on the main impeller (not sure of the name). On snower blowers in the store, they seem to have a bunch of them, while the gravely on has several.

I heard they are too heavy to maneuver. I think a regular snowblower may work better?
