Free tractor:

Yesterday, a feller stopped in and told me, if i'd lend him my ramps, that he'd bring back a free lawn tractor! Now, who wouldn't jump at that offer? Being the trusting sort, i sent him on his way with the ramps!

'Bout an hour later, i heard a knock at the door, and there was the guy--said the tractor was down by the side garage door, and ramps back in their place.

Well, i went down to see, and there sat a clean Craftsman lawn tractor, dark green type, standard tranny, and after i poured some gas in it, and stuck jumpers on the battery, it started and sounds ok! A bit of TLC, and i'll have something for Santa to ride on, come Christmas Eve.

Also, one of my Bluegrass players asked me to get his Toro snow thrower running, so i did that, and called him. When he came to get it, he asked what i did to it, so i told him some fresh gas did the trick, and a new starter gear also.

Thats when he said he never uses the electric starter. Whutt? So, he pulled the rope, and it started first pull!

I got a call from my Rural Letter Carrier Sat.
afternoon . She said that a running Craftsman
rider was just going to the road with a free
sign on it. The owner said one of the grand kids
hit something and ruined the deck. Took me
about 10 Min. to hook up my trailer and get there
and it was gone. His loss as I have a good
deck that I would have given him , he helped
me when I was a rural letter carrier , never
too late to pay back . I like your system of
having the owner deliver.

pfd: I currently am a RSMC Canada Post Carrier Part Time . about a 3 Hr Daily Route . Have they sold you on thge right hand drive mobile units yet lol ?

I have been retired 9 years now ,worked my route for
35 . As a rural carrier I drove my own left hand drive
car for the first 20 years. For a short time the
PO allowed us to buy the old DJ right hand drive
postal jeeps and I found enough parts and jeeps
till I retired.If you drive a right hand
"mobile unit"it is a lot easier on your back.

I was never a rural postman. But, after WW II, i bought a right hand drive MG Roadster, and drove it every day. It didn't take very long to get used to Right hand driving. Had it until the first baby came along, whence it became impractical and too small to keep it, so we sold it and bought a conventional left hand drive car.
