O ld Craftsman tractor.

Took in an old silver Craftsman lawn tractor, silver in color, with OHV engine. Not near new! It had caught fire, so owner traded it in. Mostly burnt off the dirt and grease, but not much else. Took off carb and flywheel cover. Found a very dead, shrivelled up, mouse, lying on cylinder fins! Stinky! Carb looks undamaged, but needs some TLC. I'll get it running tomorrow, and stuff it away til spring. Have 6 lawn tractors to go. Batteries are costly, but have to buy them, but not now. First OHV Tec engine i have worked on. Cheers! RJ

What i meant by my statement about the first Tecumseh OHV engine is this: I have never seen one that old! On a lawn tractor! Got it all fixed now, just have to start it, and store it. UUURRPP: Too much turkey!

Well, whilst pondering the problem with the snow-thrower, in a later posting, i tried to start that old tractor. To my surprise--it started quickly! So, i'll have something to do after the holidays. I'll have to use the electric heater when getting it ready to paint it. Fish-eyes ensue if i use the kerosene heater. In fact, ya might call them "owl-eyes", they get so big!
