Model 70 John Deere tractor rescued from the grave

The owner of this tractor called me to see if I could get it running. It was sunk into the earth in an outbuilding for the last 10 years. The motor had no compression due to sticking valves and the oil was pure tar. A thousand generations of mice had made a home under the shroud and the fins of the head were all but eaten off by the urine over the years.

It was the owner's wife's grandfathers mower, who bought it in 1972 and he wanted it running for a Christmas present. I just finished up this morning.

It is in remarkably good un-restored condition. Even the belts were still in good condition.
