IMHO you're asking a light duty LT to do the work of a heavy duty GT. the difference is the trans. I'd keep the LT for what it's designed for, mowing and dragging around a garden cart, lawn sweeper, etc. Pick up a used GT for the "heavy hauling." Depending on where you are, they're reasonably priced.

You've got plenty of HP, but the weak and expensive link is the trans.
