JD STX 38 cheap hood.

| I have had this STX 38 for about a week and already the hood has cracked in two places. each near the bottom where the hood mounting rod is bolted into the plastic. It must have been a bargain basement production for John Deere. I have seen a lot of cheap mowers, most notably, MTD products, but I believe JD should get top prize for the cheapest hood made. I might be able to fix it well enough to be both strong and look reasonably well enough to sell. But JD ought to have their collective BUTTS kicked. It isn't good for their trademark "quality" products. |

| John Deere makes wonderful mowers but absolutly the WORSE hoods ever made. If it makes you feel any better, they used crappy hoods on a lot, if not most, of their mowers. Nearly all JD's comming into my shop have "set off" hoods |

| "Cheap hood" Wait until you see the price! A lot of these get tapped and broken in front as stated. They have improved somewhat, but it is a tragic thing none the less. |
