Thanks rcbe, that has the operators manual and parts list there is no instruction for dropping the mower deck.

Essentially it looks like there are three connection points, the chains on the rear left and right and the pivot bar at the front. Removing these plus the drive belt should be the major parts then probable any pedal or mower engagement lever linkage (that might be part of the deck and does not need to be touched).

I would sure like a step by step!

When i remove the mowing deck on my Snapper RER, i do as you say, but i have to loosen the idler pulley that is under the black cover, to get the belt unhooked completely. do not take the belt off the engine pulley.
Mine has a handle that is lifted to put the deck in gear, and then i have to step on a pedal to keep it in gear.
