Buying a pink dogwood

I am going to buy a pink dogwood and I was looking at them at the nursery yesterday. There are 2 kinds - the stellar and regular, I guess. I forget which is which, I was gonna get the cheaper one which is $30. It is approx 7-8 ft tall and is not blooming yet. Is that normal? The other kind is $42, is about 5' tall, and is blooming already.

I've done more reading online and there is no set age or height that a dogwood will start flowering, and I don't know how old these trees are. Wouldn't I be better off buying the one that has flowers already, is that what you would do? Instead of wondering when the other one will start. I just liked that it was bigger.
