Hello. I am a brand new gardener and in need of help. I have this tree planted in my garden. Unfortunately some of the branches have been chewed of (by a dog). As you can see there is only one and a bit branches that have developed and opened buds.
What can I do to help it develop fully formed.
Many thanks.

First off, welcome to Gardenweb Arthur.

Probably about all you can do is wait and see if any buds develop and leaves open over the next month or so.

If not replace in the fall.

If the tree does leaf out, see how it does. Post a few pics especially of any ragged chew marks, but it looks pretty clean from here.

In my opinion if it does not grow any more foliage over the course of the summer it may linger for some time but may never recover.

By the way, how long has your tree been in the ground, recent transplant? What kind of tree is this and are they expensive where you are?

    Many thanks toronado3800.
Your advice has been invaluable and appreciated.
    I am in the UK.
This was in the garden when I bought my house. I think it has been in the ground about a year. I think it is an apple tree.
