Help on Elm - Which Elm? - I just dont know!!!

I am having a "dilemma". I am brand new here and hoping you might help me. I was raised and told by my Grandparents and Mom that there were 4 Chinese Elm's in the front yard of my Grandparents house. Well - now Ive had someone tell me, "no", those are not Chinese Elms - they are just "regular" elms. So - now Ive got to know what are they????????? Help!!!!!!!! Thanks.
