The reason that you didn't get any response so far is that your post is in a relatively obscure sub-forum with very little traffic.

If there was any damage to your roof, contacting the insurance company would have been the first thing I would have done. Removing that tree should have been a relatively minor task that any insured arborists should have been able to do without a problem. It is important, in this type of case, that you verify the arborist's insurance. Hopefully things went well and your house didn't suffer significant damage.

I second what Brandon says, with emphasis on insured.
