Italian Stone Pine from Walmart

I don't know if anyone saw these little guys during the holidays, but I was given one for Christmas. It's only about 8 inches tall now and planted in a ceramic container with a snowman tealight holder. I have no idea how to take care of it and no where to plant it. I'm planning on getting a bigger planter for it for the time being, but the card says it can grow to be 40-80 feet tall. My mom doesn't really want a pine tree in the yard, and I don't want to just throw it away, so what the heck do I do with this thing?

Grow in a pot, shear once per year in spring or early summer to maintain juvenile growth and small size.

Sigh...

Not sure it should be planted in a small garden/yard, as they get very large - ~50' spread (altho there I doubt it will get that big, esp when your water prices go thru the roof & folk stop watering). I'd see if there is a golf course or school campus that wants it.
