Silk Floss - Sun on leaves, shade on trunk

Finally a homeowner - one of the first things I did was track down a 15 gallon silk floss (floss silk? I've seen it both ways) to plant in the treeless backyard.

I noticed after planting that the foot of the tree doesn't get much sun. The silk floss is a part-to-full sun tree and while the branches and leaves get a lot of sun (which I assume is the part that matters), the ground and bottom foot of the truck is shaded most of the day by the wall on the south of our property. (unfortunately, it's in the only area I could really plant it)

Its leaves are drooping after being planted, but they haven't browned or dropped off, so I'm hoping it's just a little shocked from being planted and will bounce back, but now I'm worried if the shaded trunk might be an issue. I'm going to be cautious on the watering so it doesn't get rot; I know the lack of sun won't help there.

Do you think it will be a problem? Any wisdom/advice?
