Small Aesculus and scorch...

I'm growing a few A. flava from seed, since I've seen first-hand that they are pretty scorch resistant around here compared to A. hippocastanum and A. glabra. Not perfect, but they keep their leaves long enough to show fall color. However, it's also arguably the largest tree of the genus so I'll probably have to pick one seedling to keep and give away the rest.

However, what about the small native Buckeyes? A. pavia and A. parviflora? I've read that A. pavia is just about as bad as anything, but if it were planted in a mostly shade exposure, could you avoid scorch and still have decent bloom? Say on the north side of a dense forested area?

How about the A. parviflora?
