Anyone know where to get a saltcedar in the Houston area?

I've seen one growing and it's a nice tree, and yes, I know that in some places they're invasive, but apparently not here, since in all my years I've seen exactly ONE, and that was recently.

Since saltcedars are legally classified as a noxious invasive weed in your state, it is illegal for anyone to sell or distribute them in your state, and, it is illegal for you to import one from another location. Why not contact your local agricultural extension office or local native plant society and ask them for advise. Both sources are free and would be happy to help you.

Oh, good! The quarantine is working!

Hmm. I think here in the hill country in Texas, we have that everywhere. I need to take a closer look to make sure they are salt cedar.

Okay, I didn't know they are banned here. Thanks for the info. Lou, yes, you probably have them in the hill country, and I think I've heard that they are on some of the beach areas, too.

The one that I've seen is pretty mature, it's been there for a long time, and is a very graceful tree.

Looking back at my post, I realize one thing I misworded/left out. The two contacts that I gave you could suggest great alternatives that are known to do well in your area.
