Dying Willow Acacia

Garret21

A couple months ago, I planted a Willow Acacia. From what I read online, it requires full sun, little water, and no fertilizer. At first I was only going to water it every month as instructed, but the leaves began to dry and become brittle, so I increased to every other week. The leaves remained brittle and started to turn brown, so now I'm watering every week. Now the leaves are nearly all brown. What am I doing wrong? Should I have planted it in a shadier place? Does it need plant food after all? Is this tree even still savable?
