| I am currently the caretaker of a hotel that until recently has gone out of business. It is a large hotel and will eventually be demolished to make room for a new big box store. The indoor pool area is quite large and is the current location for many large ficus benjamina's. These trees range in height from 6 feet to 15 feet, and some have beautiful braided trunks as well. These trees had previously been maintained by an apparent green thumb, where they are full and lush with a deep green and minimal leaf loss/damage. If I do not remove these trees from the property they will eventually be bulldozed during the demolition process. I am interested in selling these various ficus trees but I'm not sure how I should go about it or who should I consult. |

| Contact an interior landscape maintenance company in your area. I'm sure that, in all but the most rural areas, there should be one or more in the vicinity. Odds are they might buy them if the plants are healthy and the price is right. Your other option might be to donate them to some public institution that has space for them. Perhaps you could get some kind of a deduction for charitable contributions this way on your 2012 taxes? |
