| Hi,
New to the forum so I hope I've posted in the right place. I've been growing an avocado tree from a seed for a good year and a half now. I initially made the bad mistake of moving it and he reacted negatively, but then perked up again. He seemed to be growing quite well, with new buds developing and leaves popping everywhere. The weather has been acting up a bit lately, with the odd spot of rain almost every day, and this seems to have impacted on the tree quite a bit. Because it has rained to some degree almost every day, I have held off on watering him as I didn't want to encourage root rot. In the last two days his leaves have really dried out and begun to die. They're not all dry, but the good majority seem to be dead or close to it. Any ideas on what I should do? |

| you might want to ask in the tropical fruits forum. last summer i had an avocado seed grow in my compost pile, i dug it out, it had a very long tap root. i planted it somewhere else, and it died after a few days. must have damaged the tap root, or they dont like being moved around when still young. |
