Does anyone know if any wholesale nurseries in Maryland/Mid-Atlantic region carry Ginkgo biloba 'Ross Moore'? Or is it still only mail order from a select few nurseries. I'm a landscape designer and I'm very interested in utilizing this tree in my designs. It seems so aesthetic, semi-dwarf, weeping, I mean wouldn't a promenade of these look amazing?

I have a young 4ft tall Ginkgo biloba 'Ross Moore' in my collection. It is staked and has few, if any, side branches yet. Kind of hard to tell what the growth habit will be. I havn't seen any large specimens. I believe 'Ross Moore' is relatively a new cultivar and harder than a lot to find, especially in a larger size. I grafted 4 others from a very small 1 gal tree I purchased for scion wood. I'm sorry I can't help you find this plant in your area. Does anyone else have this tree? Better yet...Does anyone have pictures of Ginkgo biloba 'Ross Moore' either young or larger specimens? Patrick

I have a few small ginkgos and enjoy them very much but i have never heard of this cultivar before and have been on many web sites in the past looking at many. Where have you heard about this one from? You may try and call Susana farms in Mongomery county...Brant carries many ginkgos but does not ship....AL

Just saw this post as I was looking to buy one of these. My father was Ross Moore. He passed away in feb. of 2008. He was a wonderful Gardner and landscaper. My family found out about this tree by mistake and hate that he is not alive to see that his tree has come full circle. If anyone can tell me where to purchase one my sisters and I want to get one and plant it in his memory. Thank you

Katherine I am writing Part II of an article on dwarf Ginkgo cultivars for the ACS Conifer Quarterly and have been searching for information about your father and his discovery of this tree. If you are willing to provide information, would you send me an email at formandfoliage@gmail.com and I'll give you some background and specific questions. I wish you luck in locating the plant, as well! Sara

Which nursery at the link Ken?
|
A quick Google search turned up several companies listing it. http://www.pendulousplants.com The last one is a wholesale grower, but they might be able to help you locate a couple. All of them you will have to contract as to your needs. Arktrees

I have a couple of copies that I grafted from a 1 gal 'Ross Moore' that I got from Kelly at pendulousplants.com several years ago. I doubt that any of the "weeping" forms of ginkgo are what one would think of as truly weeping in the sense of 'Chaparral' weeping mulberry or 'Kilmarnock' weeping pussy willow or 'Camperdown' weeping Scots elm. I may have a smaller graft available and I have enough scion wood to share. Charley Hunter
