| I agree with Denninmi on this one! Catalpa flowers do resemble iris flowers from pictures, though. Since this was assumed to come from a tree with branches and not a mass of foliage on the ground, catalpa makes the most sense. John |

| dirtman, although the colouring and overall impression might look similar a look at the structure shows the differences. Irises have 6 separate petals. Catalpa has its petals fused into a floral tube, not separate. |
