Floppy Prairie Fire Crabapple

My dad gave us this Prairie Fire Crabapple last year and we really like it. After it was planted I realized that the main branch leans pretty far to the side. I tried to bamboo it straight but because of how the main branch exits the trunk it didn't work.

I'm not sure what I ought to do about it. I think that it looks funny and wish that it looked more "traditional" if that means anything. Is there anything that I can do to help the tree look better.

Here is a link that might be useful: Pictures of the tree.

in fall.. after leaf drop.. i would move it about another 10 to 15 feet from the house.. and set it properly straight at planting ...

it is simply too close to the house.. for its potential ...

Thanks for responding Ken, I've read quite a few of your posts on oaks. Other than moving it this fall should I prune that branch at all? Maybe a few feet from the end of the branch so that it will sprout other places.
Thanks.

Sure, you can cut it back.
Your idea was good with that stick, you might have to double it up and about as long as the leader, tightening several places to the trunk.
