Just bought a house in central florida and want to start planting but never have. I have a few spots that seem to get decent sun but I guess most of the yard would be considered "dappled sun". The yard is full of pine trees, has a few azaleas and a couple other trees and plants I don't know the name of. There is one spot where I would like to plant a hedge for quick privacy and the local nursery suggested sweet Virburnum. I want it at least 8' high, fast growing and low maintenance. It is quite shade in this spot, looking for opinions on that. I would also love a fruit bearing tree, I was leaning towards mulberry. I bought a snowball Virburnum just to get my hands dirty but very new to gardening. So the less maintenance the better. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
