Urgent Banana Tree Help

Why is my Banana Tree doing this?? It wa sinside , by a window , and I noticed it not looking well so I set it outside , and I noticed this :*(

    the leaves are wilting?? Plenty of water it is in direct sunlight.

    The leaves have not been opening since I put it out.

    If it has been inside all this time it's used to a certain amount of sunlight, but if you put it outside without a little transition from inside light to outside light it will burn, and that's what happened. Should still be okay, but I would put it outside in indirect sunlight for a bit, then full sunlight.

    Musa basjoo is an alternative that you might consider. This pic was taken last October at the Nat'l Arboretum. This hardy Japanese Banana doesn't have to be taken inside. I have a neighbor who has lined his drive with them. Not exactly what I would do but they are cheap and plentiful.

    In zone 8 (especially if on the warmer side of zone 8), there should be quite a few options that don't require overwintering indoors. Zone 8 is where the window of possibilities for bananas really start opening up.

    the process is called HARDENING OFF... in this case to direct sun..

    up here in MI.. we would also have to do it for temps...

    basically.. you sunburned them ...

    google the term.. you ought to find much in regard to such
